Vikki Batten is new TDD Technical Consultant

Vikki Batten has just been appointed a Technical Consultant in the PADI Technical Diving Division (TDD).

In 1997 Vikki discovered UK wreck diving and her original desire to teach in the tropics was replaced with a quest to dive as many wrecks as possible. The year after that she did her first cave dives and fell in love all over again. Vikki moved into technical diving as a way of spending more time on/in the wrecks and caves becoming a Trimix diver in 1999 and an Inspiration CCR diver the year after.

Vikki is an Advanced Cave, Side mount diver, Cave DPV and Trimix CCR diver on the Inspiration, KISS and Sentinel. In her free time she loves to explore caves and has been a support and lead diver on several European cave exploration expeditions. She is always planning and dreaming about the next big trip!  (Oct 2010?)

Alongside her own personal diving Vikki has run a Technical Diving School and Centre. She has been teaching technical diving since 2000 and is a CCR Inspiration, Evolution and KISS Instructor, Advanced Wreck and Intro to Cave instructor and a PADI TecRec Trimix Instructor Trainer.

In 2010 Vikki joined the PADI International Training Team in Bristol, UK from where she is enjoying assisting both PADI members and non-members with their training problems and enquiries. She particularly enjoys the tech diving enquiries as it gives her an excuse to talk tec!

  1. Congratulations on the job. It seems as if PADI/DSAT have got themselves on the right track with this appointment. Someone with plenty of experience of technical diving, teaching and running a diving business. Hope to have the opportunity to speak soon, best regards Stuart.

  2. I am hugely delighted to see Vikki Batten appointed as the new TDD Technical Consultant. She is respected as a serious technical diver and brings to this role a huge amount of “real” expertise as a diver, an instructor and a dive centre owner. It’s an inspired credible appointment and I believe that Vikki will be a great asset to PADI as it develops its technical training.

  3. Hi Vicky
Hope all is going well for you. Its Mark Taylor, you taught Ian & myself advanced nitrox at chepstow, done some fantastic diving all over since then, off to mozambique in october.
    Keep well
